We would like to clarify that Acu-Care is not a marketing or patient-referral service.

Acu-Care provides credentialing services for licensed acupuncturists to become recognized as in-network providers with insurance companies. Our role is to facilitate the credentialing process, verify provider information, and ensure accurate listings with the insurance companies selected during your application process.

Once credentialed, patients can locate providers directly through the insurance company’s provider directories, where your name and professional details are displayed. Being listed in these directories allows patients seeking acupuncture services through their health plans to find and contact you—helping to increase your patient flow.

Credentialing approvals are determined by committee meetings, which are held every other month. Once your application is reviewed and approved during a committee meeting, the approval date will serve as your official effective date.

Please note that timelines may vary depending on the completion of all required documentation and scheduling of committee meetings.

To request updates to your information on insurance directories, please email our office at acucare@acucare.com with the details of the changes you would like to make.

A member of our team will review your request and provide any necessary documentation. Once the updates have been completed on our end, we will submit the revised information to the applicable insurance companies. Please note that their processing and update timelines may vary depending on each insurance provider.

Providers submit claims directly to payors. They can utilize the services of a billing professional or company they hire to manage claim submissions on their behalf. Acu-Care does not deduct or retain any percentage of provider payments. 100% of all payments are issued directly to the provider or their company.

Acu-Care credentials providers on an individual basis only, and each provider must obtain their own Acu-Care membership.

The account holder is the individually credentialed provider. As a result, our members have the flexibility to practice at multiple locations or clinics under their membership.

For clinics:
Providers affiliated with your clinic must each submit an individual application for credentialing. However, providers may include Tax Identification Number (TIN) information related to the business or clinic as part of their application.
